Mexico’s advanced mobile communications satellite launched last month for humanitarian and national security uses has successfully blossomed in space.

Watch the post-launch press conference held at the Kennedy Space Center following the successful launch of an Atlas 5 carrying Orbital ATK’s Cygnus AO-6 cargo craft, which is headed to the International Space Station.

Two communications payloads — one for Intelsat and another for Europe’s data relay satellite system — lifted off from French Guiana aboard an Ariane 5 rocket at 1930 GMT (3:30 p.m. EDT) Tuesday.
