Time-lapse: The Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon roll to the launch pad (members only)

Debris from SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket booster returned to shore in Southern California late Monday after it tipped over on touchdown on a landing platform in the Pacific Ocean following liftoff with a ocean study satellite.

The booster will first launch the Starlink 10-5 mission no earlier than the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 20. The static fire test happened Monday evening shortly after 7 p.m. EDT (2300 UTC).

The Starlink 10-34 mission was SpaceX’s 80th Falcon 9 launch of the year. Liftoff from pad 40 occurred at 12:26 a.m. EDT (0426 UTC).
