Soyuz crew takes off from Kazakhstan

Two Russian cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut rocketed into orbit Thursday inside of a Soyuz spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Alexander Samokutyaev, Elena Serova and Barry Wilmore took off inside the Soyuz TMA-14M capsule at 2025 GMT (4:25 p.m. EDT) Thursday, or 2:25 a.m. local time Friday at the historic launch base in Kazakhstan.
