Live coverage: SpaceX supply ship returns to Earth

NASA and Orbital ATK have agreed to schedule the launch of the next Cygnus supply ship for Nov. 10 from Wallops Island on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, a delay of a month from the mission’s earlier target launch date to allow the flight to carry more cargo to the International Space Station, officials said.

Cameras in various locations at Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center capture the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying NASA’s TESS planet-hunting telescope.

During its return voyage to Port Canaveral in Florida, a SpaceX Falcon 9 first stage booster, tail number B1058, toppled over and broke in half. The booster has made 19 flights including launching NASA astronauts to space for the first time from American soil after the Space Shuttle program ended.
