These photos of Thursday evening’s successful relaunch of a Falcon 9 rocket booster, which returned to Earth after a maiden mission last year, were taken at the Kennedy Space Center press site about 3.1 miles (5 kilometers) from launch pad 39A.
The images show the 229-foot-tall (70-meter) Falcon 9 rocket climbing into the sky on 1.7 million pounds of thrust, then arcing to the east with the SES 10 communications satellite on-board.
