Live coverage: SpaceX Falcon 9 launches

Officials from NASA and SpaceX briefed the media on Monday’s scheduled launch of a commercial Dragon spacecraft on an automated resupply mission to the International Space Station. It will be the 12th SpaceX cargo flight to the research outpost.

A powerful H-2A launcher, boosted by four strap-on rocket motors and an upgraded second stage, lifted off from Japan on Tuesday with a multipurpose communications satellite for Ottawa-based Telesat. Check out photos of the H-2A rocket soaring into clear skies.

The mission featured the 400th successful booster landing on a droneship. Liftoff from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station happened at 7:10 a.m. EDT (1110 UTC).
