Video: TDRS-M takes flight atop Atlas 5

Fresh off a series of three complex spacewalks to repair a $2 billion cosmic ray detector, the International Space Station’s crew is set to receive two robotic resupply freighters in the next week after launches from Florida’s Space Coast and the steppes of Kazakhstan.

With the payload matching game showing no prospects, the final Delta 2 rocket could be headed to the Smithsonian or another museum instead of space.

The two Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program, or GSSAP, satellites for the U.S. military are mounted aboard the United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket. Liftoff is planned for Aug. 19 from Cape Canaveral.
