Videos: Previewing SpaceX’s eighth International Space Station resupply launch

Blaming a technical glitch encountered during a preflight test, officials said Thursday the launch of SpaceX’s next Dragon cargo capsule to the International Space Station has been delayed to early January.

The mission comes as SpaceX is preparing for a week that includes a rideshare flight; a dual-manifest, Moon bound missions; and Starship Flight 7. Liftoff from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is set for 11:47 a.m. EST (1647 UTC).

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 4-East at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California at 12:17 p.m. EST (9:17 a.m. PST; 1717 GMT) Saturday with an oceanography satellite jointly developed by U.S. and European space and weather agencies. The rocket’s first stage booster returned to a bullseye landing back at Vandenberg.
