SpaceX flies 13 more Direct to Cell Starlink satellites on Falcon 9 rocket launch from Vandenberg SFB

The Starlink 8-2 mission from the company’s West Coast launch pad features 13 more satellites boasting a Direct to Cell capability. Liftoff from Vandenberg Space Force Base happened at 9:30 p.m. PDT (12:30 a.m. EDT, 0430 UTC) on Thursday.

SpaceX breaks Space Shuttle pad record with Falcon 9 Starlink mission

SpaceX’s launch of the Starlink 6-56 mission will move the company past the total number of Space Shuttle Program missions from Launch Complex 39A. Liftoff is set for 2:42 p.m. EDT (1842 UTC).

Atlas 5 valve repair will delay Starliner’s first crewed mission to May 17 at the earliest

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is set to roll its Atlas 5 rocket and the Starliner spacecraft back to the Vertical Integration Facility on Wednesday to begin working on the problematic valve. The new launch date is no earlier than Friday, May 17, at 6:16 p.m. EDT (2016 UTC).

Starliner launch scrubbed by trouble with a valve in the Atlas 5’s Centaur upper stage

An Atlas 5 rocket carrying astronauts for the first time was fueled for blastoff Monday night to boost Boeing’s long-delayed Starliner crew ferry ship into orbit for its first piloted test flight. But trouble with a valve in the rocket’s upper stage forced mission managers to order a scrub just two hours before takeoff.

SpaceX completed the first of two planned Starlink missions from Florida this week. The first launch lifted off from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral on Monday at 2:14 p.m. EDT (1814 UTC).

Long-delayed Boeing Starliner ready for first piloted flight to space station

Years behind schedule and more than a billion dollars over budget, Boeing’s Starliner capsule is finally poised for its first piloted launch Monday, a critical test flight carrying two veteran astronauts to the International Space Station and in so doing, demonstrate an alternative to SpaceX’s already operational Crew Dragon.

SpaceX launches 30th Starlink mission of 2024 on Falcon 9 flight from Cape Canaveral

Prior to launch, SpaceX sent 656 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit so far this year. Liftoff of the Starlink 6-55 mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station happened at 10:37 p.m. EDT (0237 UTC).

SpaceX launches Maxar’s first WorldView Legion satellites on Falcon 9 flight from Vandenberg Space Force Base

The mission launched the first two of six Earth observation satellites built by Maxar Space Systems. Liftoff from Space Launch Complex 4 East happened at 11:36 a.m. PDT (2:36 p.m. EDT, 1836 UTC).
