Video: Falcon 9 fires up engines for static fire test (members only)

A SpaceX Falcon 9 launched the Galaxy 37 communications satellite for Intelsat in the early hours of Thursday. Liftoff from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station occurred at 1 a.m. EDT (0500 UTC).

Flight controllers and other essential personnel at NASA’s Johnson Space Center just south of Houston are sheltering in place, maintaining contact with the International Space Station during torrential rain and flooding across south Texas from the slow-moving remnants of Hurricane Harvey.

The Starlink 15-6 mission will add another 26 satellites into SpaceX’s low Earth orbit constellation. Liftoff occurred from pad 4E at 6:54 p.m. PDT (9:54 p.m. EDT, 0154 UTC).
