Making its third try after back-to-back aborts, a Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched the commercial Intelsat 35e communications satellite Wednesday from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Liftoff from launch pad 39A occurred at 7:38 p.m. EDT (2338 GMT).
These photos of Thursday evening’s successful relaunch of a Falcon 9 rocket booster, which returned to Earth after a maiden mission last year, were taken at the Kennedy Space Center press site about 3.1 miles from launch pad 39A.
The mission featured the 160th landing of a booster on the drone ship, ‘Of Course I Still Love You’. Liftoff from pad 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base happened at 7:20 a.m. PDT (10:20 a.m. EDT / 1420 UTC).
