SpaceX closes out first half of 2023 with another Starlink launch

A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Friday with another batch of Starlink internet satellites, wrapping up SpaceX’s action-packed first half of the year with the company’s 44th mission of 2023.

Another batch of 47 Starlink internet satellites rode a SpaceX rocket into orbit early Thursday from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, continuing the company’s record flight rate with another Falcon 9 launch and landing. Liftoff occurred at 12:19 a.m. PDT (3:19 a.m. EDT; 0719 UTC).

SpaceX launched 72 small payloads into polar orbit from California’s Central Coast Monday, delivering satellites to space for customers around the world while accomplishing the 200th landing of a Falcon rocket since the first booster recovery in 2015.

SpaceX launched a cluster of 72 small payloads for customers in at least 18 countries into polar orbit from California Monday on the company’s eighth small satellite rideshare mission. The mission, known as Transporter 8, lifted off at 2:35 p.m. PDT (5:35 p.m. EDT; 2135 UTC).

SpaceX’s 28th resupply mission to the International Space Station lifted off Monday from the Kennedy Space Center, carrying new solar arrays, fresh food, and experiments to sustain research and upgrade the power system on the orbiting laboratory.

More second-gen Starlink satellites launch on Falcon 9 rocket

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Sunday morning with 22 upgraded Starlink internet satellites, but officials called off a second Falcon 9 launch later in the day due to high winds in the booster’s offshore recovery area.

Third set of upgraded solar arrays ready for ride to International Space Station

Two more roll-out solar arrays will ride a SpaceX cargo ship to the International Space Station this weekend, continuing a years-long mid-life station upgrade as NASA plans procurement of a final set of new solar wings to fully reinforce the lab’s power supply.

Another batch of 52 Starlink satellites launched late Tuesday from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, on the way to join SpaceX’s fleet of more than 4,000 spacecraft beaming broadband signals around the world.
