Live coverage: Ariane 5 rocket deploys satellites for Australia, India

Rocket Lab’s first mission since a failed launch in early July took off at 11:05 p.m. EDT Sunday (0305 GMT Monday) from New Zealand. The small satellite launcher carried into orbit a commercial radar remote sensing spacecraft for Capella Space.

SpaceX’s first launch since August took off from Cape Canaveral at 9:56 a.m. EST (1456 GMT) to carry 60 broadband satellites into orbit for the company’s Starlink network. The Starlink satellites rode together on top of a Falcon 9 rocket with a previously-flown first stage and a reused payload fairing.

An Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle lifted off Saturday and flew to an altitude of more than 360 miles to deploy two Singaporean satellites, one for all-weather radar imaging surveillance and another for technology demonstrations.
