Endeavour launched on the eighth Shuttle-Mir docking mission on January 22, 1998 at 9:48 p.m. Andy Thomas was flown to the Russian space station to replace Dave Wolf, who returned to Earth aboard the shuttle. Endeavour's crew was commander Terry Wilcutt, pilot Joe Edwards and mission specialists Bonnie Dunbar, Michael Anderson, James Reilly and Salizhan Sharipov.
