The second United States Microgravity Laboratory Spacelab scientific research mission was launched aboard Columbia at 9:53 a.m., on October 20, 1995. The mission was commanded by Ken Bowersox, with pilot Kent Rominger and the mission specialists Kathryn Thornton, Cady Coleman and Michael Lopez-Alegria and payload specialists Fred Leslie and Albert Sacco.
