Onboard camera view of solid rocket boosters separation

Just over two minutes after liftoff, the twin solid rocket boosters are burned out and separate from the space shuttle to fall into the Atlantic Ocean. A video camera mounted inside the cockpit of space shuttle Discovery shows flash from the separation thrusters that propel the spent boosters away. Source video: NASA TV (126k, 10sec QuickTime file).
