The Life and Microgravity Spacelab scientific research module was carried aloft aboard Columbia. Liftoff occurred on June 20, 1996, at 10:49 a.m. The crew was led by commander Tom Henricks, with pilot Kevin Kregel, mission specialists were Susan Helms, Richard Linnehan and Charles Brady and the payload specialists Jean-Jacques Favier and Robert Thirsk.
