The Morelos B, AUSSAT 2 and Satcom KU 2 commercial communications satellites were launched from Atlantis' second flight. Launch occurred at 7:29 p.m. on November 29, 1985. The crew was led by commander Brewster Shaw, with pilot Bryan O'Connor, mission specialists Mary Cleave, Sherwood Spring and Jerry Ross and payload specialists Rodolfo Neri Vela and Charles Walker. Ross and Spring conducted two spacewalks to test building structures in orbit.
