The Spacelab 3 science research mission was launched aboard Challenger at 12:02 p.m. on April 29, 1985. The crew was led by commander Bob Overmyer, with pilot Fred Gregory, mission specialists Don Lind, Norm Thagard and Bill Thorton and payload specialists Lodewijk van den Berg and Taylor Wang. Some 15 primary experiments were flown in the Spacelab module.
