Endeavour roars into the night
Space shuttle Endeavour launches at 2:28 a.m. EDT from Kennedy Space Center's pad 39A to deliver a Japanese stowage module and a Canadian robot handyman to the space station.
The ship soared into a low deck of clouds over the launch site a half-minute after liftoff, disappearing from view.
