Our new window on the Universe -- the Hubble Space Telescope -- was launched aboard Discovery at 8:33 a.m. on April 24, 1990. The long-awaited mission was commanded by Loren Shriver, with pilot Charlie Bolden and mission specialists Steve Hawley, Bruce McCandless and Kathryn Sullivan.
