Proton poised for launch

Russian technicians towed a Proton rocket to launch pad 39 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Thursday and hydraulically rotated the 191-foot-tall launcher into a vertical position for Sunday's launch a broadcasting satellite for Sirius XM Radio.

The Proton is set for liftoff at 1812:56 GMT (2:12:56 p.m. EDT). The rocket's Breeze M upper stage will ignite five times to inject the Sirius FM6 spacecraft into geostationary transfer orbit about nine hours after launch.
