A Proton rocket soared into space Sunday with an Intelsat communications satellite, a 6.9-ton craft to cover Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean region with video, voice and data services.
The Intelsat 22 satellite launched at 1210 GMT (8:10 a.m. EDT) Sunday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
These video clips show rare views of a Proton rocket blasting off from Complex 200 at the historic Central Asia space center.
