Raytheon proposes Transformational Communications

Leading a team of network systems experts, Raytheon Company has submitted a proposal to transform and expand the military's network capability, removing communications as a constraint to the warfighter.

Working in tandem with the U.S. Air Force's MILSATCOM Joint Program Office (MJPO), Raytheon and primary teammates The Boeing Company, General Dynamics and AT&T Government Solutions will define requirements for the Program Research & Development Announcement competitive phase of the Transformational Communications MILSATCOM (TCN) Network Segment.

"This includes such programs as the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System, Future Imagery Architecture, and numerous other Department of Defense, national, civil, and commercial activities. This integrated team offers a highly innovative, best-value solution, combining government experience with technology-driving commercial partners."

The Raytheon team includes the world's leading commercial and government network integrators and Internet Protocol (IP)-based service providers, offering relevant experience in terrestrial, air, space and terminal domains. AT&T Government Solutions is the world's leader in IP-based and optical networks. Boeing brings Communications On The Move (COTM) and interoperability experience through their Connexion by Boeing mobile information service and Strategic Architecture Reference Model (SARM). General Dynamics contributes 40 years of leadership in information assurance and both space-based and tactical military networks. Raytheon offers best-in-class information assurance expertise. Teammates Cisco Systems and Sun Microsystems provide industry- leading IP and computing technology respectively combined with world-class testbed capabilities to validate new communications architectures.
