Swinging at liftoff
The three swing arms will remain in position while the Delta 4 rocket's RS-68 main engine fires to life in the final seconds of the countdown. The arms then begin to retract away as the rocket lifts off, swinging just over 90 degrees in a few seconds. Boeing has already tested the timing of the retraction hundreds of times.
