Issued: Wednesday, August 27
Launch Weather Officer: Joel Tumbiolo, 45th Weather Squadron
Synoptic Discussion: "Surface high pressure ridge axis is expected to remain north of the area the next couple of days. This will result in deep easterly flow. Any and all thunderstorm activity will develop, and move west of the area, and be concentrated over interior and western Florida during the late afternoon and evening.
"Beyond Thursday the forecast gets more complicated. Model guidance varies on the extent, intensity, and speed of the tropical wave that will approach the area as early as Friday. Conditions are expected to worsen as the weekend approaches.
"Main concerns on launch day will be ground winds and the proximity of any offshore showers."
