NASA's next Tracking and Data Relay Satellite was enveloped within the two halves of the 14-foot, dimeter, 42-foot-tall payload fairing Wednesday for flight aboard the United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket.

The next day the payload was lifted aboard the transport trailer for the ride to meet the rest of the Atlas 5 rocket.

The encapsulated satellite will be driven on Monday to the Vertical Integration Facility at Cape Canaveral's Complex 41 and hoisted atop the Atlas 5. Combined compatibility tests will follow before the 191-foot-tall rocket is wheeled to the launch pad on Jan. 22.

Liftoff remains set for Jan. 23 at 9:05 p.m. EST.
