Orbital Sciences Corp. successfully launched an Antares rocket and Cygnus cargo ship Thursday, starting a three-day trek to the International Space Station with nearly 3,000 pounds of supplies, food, experiments and other gear.
The 133-foot-tall rocket lifted off at 1:07:05 p.m. EST (1807:05 GMT) from launch pad 0A at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, a state-owned facility at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
These views were captured from the press viewing site about 2 miles west of the launch pad.
