August 29, 2003 - This schedule lists the rocket missions awarded under the U.S. Air Force's Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle program. Note: The EELV Buy 2 missions are not yet included in the official manifest.

Near-term missions are shown with announced launch dates. The rest are listed with the Fiscal Year in which the flight is planned to occur. A Fiscal Year runs from October 1 of the previous calendar year to September 30 of the next. Example: FY '04 is Oct. 1, 2003 to Sept. 30, 2004.

The Boeing Delta 4 Heavy rocket will launch on a demonstration mission for the U.S. Air Force. The largest of the Delta 4 family, the Heavy version features three Common Booster Cores mounted together to form a triple-body. This launch will carry only a dummy payload in an effort to demonstrate that the rocket works before it blasts off on future flights with critical and expensive satellites for the U.S. government. The Boeing Delta 4 Medium+ rocket will launch a classified spy satellite cargo for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. The rocket will fly in a configuration with two strap-on solid rocket boosters. This is the first Delta 4 mission from the West Coast. [July 28]

The Boeing Delta 4 Medium rocket will launch the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program 17 spacecraft for the U.S. Air Force. Built by Lockheed Martin, this polar-orbiting weather satellite will be used by the military for global weather forecasting. [July 28]

The Boeing Delta 4 Heavy rocket will launch the 23rd and last Defense Support Program missile-warning spacecraft for the U.S. Air Force. The rocket will fly in the Heavy configuration with three Common Booster Cores mounted together to form a triple-body. [July 28]
