T-00:03.2 Stage 1 ignition
The first stage LR87 liquid propellant rocket ignites and the two engines come up to proper thrust.
T+00:00 Liftoff
The Titan 2 rocket begins its journey to orbit with the DMSP F15 satellite from Space Launch Complex-4 West at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
T+00:09 Roll maneuver
The rocket rolls to the proper flight azimuth for the launch.
T+01:15 Maximum pressure
The Titan 2 rocket passes through the area of maximum dynamic pressure during its climb to space.
T+02:31 Stage 1 shutdown
The first stage engines shut down. The event is commanded by the rocket's guidance system.
T+02:32 Stage separation, stage 2 ignition
The LR91 liquid propellant second stage rocket is ignited and the first stage is separated as the Titan 2 rocket continues its ascent. The first stage falls into the Pacific Ocean.
T+03:38 Jettison payload fairing
The payload fairing that protected the DMSP spacecraft during launch is separated.
T+05:25 Stage 2 shutdown
The Titan 2 rocket's second stage shuts down by guidance command. The stage is then prepared to release the DMSP F15 satellite.
T+06:14 DMSP separation
The Defense Meteorological Satellite Program 5D-3-15 spacecraft is deployed from the Titan 2 rocket's second stage.
