Returning to Earth for perhaps the final time, the space shuttle Atlantis glided to a tire-smoking touchdown on Runway 33 at the Kennedy Space Center at 8:48 a.m. EDT Wednesday. The shuttle's six-person crew delivered a new Russian module to the International Space Station and conducted three spacewalks to maintain the complex.
