Demating Discovery

After rolling back to the Vehicle Assembly Building from launch pad 39B, technicians demate space shuttle Discovery and its original external fuel tank. Discovery will be attached with another tank and set of solid rocket boosters for the return-to-flight mission. The new tank has additional ice-fighting heaters and instrumentation. The shuttle goes back to the pad in mid-June for its planned mid-July liftoff. Credit: NASA-KSC
