Protruding bolt seen on last shuttle flight Posted: October 5, 2000 
During last month's flight of shuttle Atlantis a 35mm camera mounted in the belly of the orbiter captured this shot of a bolt on the external tank that failed to retract properly. The protruding bolt casts a shadow across the image. The Earth is visible in the bottom left corner. Photo: NASA |
