A Russian Proton rocket rolled to the launch pad in Kazakhstan on Feb. 11 with the Turksat 4A communications satellites, the first of two Turkish telecom payloads to launch this year on Proton.

The rocket will launch at 2109 GMT (4:09 p.m. EST) Friday, beginning a nine-hour mission with the Breeze M upper stage to boost Turksat 4A into geostationary transfer orbit.

See our Mission Status Center for live coverage of the launch.
