If you're among the more than 3 billion people expected to watch at least some of this year's World Cup in Brazil, you can thank space technology for bringing the excitement of the football spectacle into your home.

This video produced by Euronews and distributed by the European Space Agency shows how satellites can beam broadcasts of the football matches from Brazil to the opposite side of the world in barely a second.
