PHOTOS: Dragon capsule attached to Falcon rocket

SpaceX engineers attached the Dragon capsule to a Falcon 9 rocket Sept. 30 for the company's first operational resupply flight to the International Space Station. The unmanned spacecraft will deliver 1,000 pounds of cargo to the complex.

The mating operation occurred inside SpaceX's hangar at Complex 40 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.

Liftoff is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 8:35 p.m. EDT.
