Atlas 5 on the eve of launch

A United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket is geared up for launch Monday with NASA's Mars-bound MAVEN spacecraft at 1:28 p.m. EST (1828 GMT). The launch window extends for two hours.

These photos from NASA photographer Bill Ingalls show the Atlas 5 rocket on Sunday evening poised for launch at Cape Canaveral's Complex 41.

The 188-foot-tall rocket rolled to the pad Saturday.
