Atlas 5 rocket launches on lunar mission

The Atlas 5 rocket launches from Cape Canaveral carrying a robotic scout to reconnoiter the Moon like never before and a sleuth that will dig into a tantalizing mystery at the lunar south pole. Liftoff occurred June 18 at 5:32 p.m. EDT from Complex 41.
